what type of filters do yall use to make your bass sound weird/crazy/cool/

the low pass filter is getting kind of boring ;\

also what do yall use to record sounds from a movie or some tv show or some shit

Depending on what plugs the Ren has, you might have a wider range of LPF I.e. 12db low shelf, 24db low shelf. Try messing with these different types of filters.

Have you messed with a 'notch' filter? I like the way this sounds sometimes but you gotta sweep the low freq range.

To record movies or shit off the tele, I use a cable which goes from my headphone out on the TV (3.5mm) to my interface's (or your Ren's) inputs. Dual RCA or dual 1/4" jacks.

i just eq filter my bass, maybe add some distortion and **** with the resonance. sometimes i record my bass in hot, then lower the volume after recording in hot and then move on to fx (distortion, resonance, etc.)

just get some red & white rca cables going to whatever (1/8 or another set of rca) that you're recorder has. headphone jacks are 1/8, ts/trs is 1/4. just be sure to turn the volume and record volume ALL THE WAY DOWN BEFORE recording. otherwise you'll give yourself a heart attack from the feedback.
