BASS

I'm just checking out... what you guys prefer to use when you doing bass lines? not including filters and stuff...

Use the High pass filter = Leaveing only the bass left..

i like working with bass guitars. they sound really good. especially the guitar patches that sound "loose." that loose string sound a guitar can have. but thats what i like usin.

i'm not asking how can I make bass lines...
i'm asking you guys what do YOU prefer for Bass lines... like Smoove03 like bass guitars... maybe someone using effects on bass guitars? or some synths... na'mean?

we both use a triton studio wit a mpc

Jazz Bass > Compressor > Amp and cabinet simulator > Boss HD recorder.

I put the best parts in the MPC. Effects when necessary: a little bit of distortion and maybe some chorus.

ive been noticing good basslines also come with good timing and groove.

ive been synthesizing my basses with my triton.

layering snyth leads over my main sub bass. all depends on the track.

filterin funk records and then choppin it up, but the mpc eats dick for that. i use recycle to get real rich resonant tones outta some old breaks.

I use a sampled jazzbas or Ibannez for pretty much everything. I change the cutoff and put some distortion on it, then layer it with something like a Moog or other synth patch.

Oraziodelcore... a Highpass filter allows only the HIGHS to pass thru, filtering OUT the bass. A lowpass filter filters out the highs and allows the lows so you have BASS.
