Mini Moog?

Can someone school me as to what the mini moog does/good for? I know alchemist has one, but I wanna know more about it. thanks.

The Minimoog is the Grand Daddy of analog synths. The Minimoog Voyager is what Alc uses, that's basicaly a new and improved(though some might argue with that) version. It is mainly used for synth bass, leads and pads but you can create all kinds of crazy sounds with it. It's mono .

its cool...but i think id rather get a nord lead, or alesis andromean, or ms2000.

I dont know, i guess if your into oldschool synths and its that big of deal to have one. But i wouldnt get one just because alchemist has one.....basically what im trying to say.

You can spend the money on alot more things.....that would probably make you happier;

Yeah, who's to say what sounds better and what doesn't? It's all opinion in the end.

And in the end, my opinion says that no current analog synths on the market sound as big, fat and warm as the MiniMoog or Moog Voyager! Haha...

Man I played those old Korg Moogs from back in the day and
I wish I had that Mini Moog by Voyager they have the anniversary

hey, any of you guys see those vinyls called "hooked on bach" or whatever....they recreate bach with moogs......there are several

alot of it is mush-sampling wise, but its funny because there are some dr.dre esk sounds on those vinyl.

Minimoog is a beautiful monophonic synth. If you use it in a track you will feel it rip through the mix. Just listen to Bernie Worrel rip that mug in a P-Funk track. Downsides are: no midi & expensive as hell. I don't know if you can save patches either. But if you play it live it sounds so damn good. It's a living breathing thing. There is a cheaper one that Radio Shack partnered with Bob Moog that sounds pretty good too. I think you can grab one for $600? Forgot the name.
