Propellerhead Recycle Help?

I got recycle to slice up drum loops and such. how do i export the slices to an program i can use on my MPC2000xl? the akai export thing is an unknown file type on my mpc. is there some way to make an easy drum program?
if i cant make a drum program, how can i use the midi and samples together? thanks

have you looked into the MPCeditor?

the MPC editor loads akp files and makes them into a PGM file for the mpc. The akp file created by Recycle includes the midi sequence file, so it rebuilds the sequence slice by slice for you.

Cool for dropping a snare or a hat or a kick out of a break without altering the break itself.

Edit: Is this what Tutor means by "groove control" templates when he sells the Breaks and Beats sample pack?

Hi, the Akai format is for the MPC 4000/Z8/Z4 series. You'll want to choose the
export with "samples and midi". Transfer the Sliced Samples, along with the
Midi file over to the MPC 2000. You'll then want to make aprogram and load
each program onto pad. You'll probably want to pick chromatic pad structure.
Then load up the sequence and hit play. Should play them in the right order.

I'm a 4000 owner so can't help with details (recycles already built into the 4000 basiclly), but read that method from the MPC Tutor website before they
went to a payed site. If you want exact details, you'll want to buy their new PDF
book that details step by step, for those not already in the know. They include
some sample files as well for you.


Or as somebody else pointed out, you can use the MPC Editor to use the AKP programs
to 2000XL format.

actually recycle is exporting an S5000/S6000 akai format. I think AWAVE can also convert this to an MPC2000 compatible file.
