any MIDI masters here???

I need a lil bit of help with my midi setup.....

what I have is this

The XL is the sequencer and sampler of course....

I have a Motif rack which is being controlled by a Novation K Station...

I have the XL and the Rack working fine.....

but I want to be able to use the sounds from the K Station too, but I can't figure out how to get it to work the way it is setup now....


The XL "B" in goes to the K Station out
The K Station in goes to the Motif out
The Motif in goes to the XL "B"out

I use the "A" in and out to sync to my tracker....


So, when I put my track to MIDI: 1A.... and I press a key on the K Station, it records the note on the XL....I know this because I can see it in step edit and I can hear it on the speakers...but when I press "play" to hear it, nothing happens, it's as if the note isn't even there.....


I tried using "thru" but that doesn't seem to work either.....


anyone with a similar setup or suggestions???

k station out > MPC in
MPC out > Rack in
rack thru > k station in .
If it doesn't work you should check your midi set up in your rack to enable the thru port to work .hope it helps

thanks man, but I can only change the port number when it comes to the settings on my Motif.....Is it even possible to use the K Station as a controller and a synth at the same time??

after a bit of tinkering again, I figured out that instead of using trying to use "1A" it has to be set on "1B".... so your info was correct after all, thanks.....
