MPC2000 non-sequencable switch-up trick I found.

If you go into the program screen and then press main screen, it cuts audio out. This is well known, but what isn't is that if you use it while a sequence is playing, it kind of cuts audio out for .5 sec and if you time it right to the beat, it can create a cool effect. Kind of reminds me of that part in Premo's Boom.
