midi

everytime i play my keyboard i hear drum sounds from my mpc, but i have the drums set to midi. any help would do.

you got the drums set to midi on what, the keyboard or the mpc?
If you have them on midi on the mpc, then change those tracks to S:Drum

yeah, the way you worded your question is a little confusing, but let me break it down fo ya...

if your drums are coming from samples that you're loading/sampling into your MPC, when you record them to a sequence, those tracks should be set to DRUM.
When it comes time for you to play some keys and sequence those, then set whatever unused track you're sequencing to to MIDI, and then pick your channel (up to 16 channels if it's one multitimbral keyboard). ex) So say you want to lay down a flute on track 7. Set the track to MIDI, channel 1A (if you're going out MIDI port A). Set your flute sound on your keyboard to transmit on MIDI channel 1. Record and play the flute. Then say you want a piano on track 8. Go to track 8 on the MPC, choose MIDI, and choose channel 2A. Then on your keyboard, transmit the piano on MIDI channel 2. keep going in this manner until you got your sounds (up to 16 if it's multitimbral-- meaning that your one keyboard acts like 16 different keyboards = it can play up to 16 different sounds at one time).

I understand. On the mpc you have your track set to MIDI vs DRUM 1,2...? Is this correct? If so I believe that you could start by making sure that the local control of the keyboard is off (generally only a problem if trying to play mpc sounds and still hearing keyboard sounds though...). Though I can't think of anything else that would cause this without more details from you, this may be worth a try (and possibly make sure that the MIDI is not off but set to a device number[seems like this is already done though]).

Realized through typing that the post is a little vague, hmmm, sorry for rambling but as the others stated if you could provide more info on the problem should be simple to fix.
