anyone use any old Yamaha DX or Casio CTK models for sounds? you can actually create some really dope basslines from keyboards like these.

the dx-7 is a classic keyboard and has had many VSTiS modeled after it - most notably native instruments fm7 (which i use religiously for b-lines).

FM synthesis is the joint.

yeah, I got the TX81 which is more similar to the DX 11, or 21 (i ca't remember). Anyways, it's cheap and sounds cut through great. I also picked up a Korg DS-8 which is a two op FM synth from around the same period as the DX. Cheap as hell, and can produce some great (often wierd) noises. I also use the first casio that I ever had, but I can't remember what it's called. Sampled and pitched down, there is not much fatter, especially the drum sounds :D
