the funny thing about hip hop is everybody reall samples from the same type of music. Here is a tip but you got to open your ears and musical mind. If you want to get some great hi hats and cymbols snars and some kicks, starting playing some rock music. If your looking for that dirty sound i can under you getting off of reocrds but rock today are using the greatest outboard gear ane what not. it all sounds great and i have found so many open drums m more easy!

Mainly old funk ish like the Ohio Players, Bob James, Parliament, and more. I try not to sample from recent Hip Hop, but every now and then I'll catch Questlove slippin. Grateful Dead has some nice drums, Spyro Gyra, MJ like MWalker mentioned The Temptations, Four Tops, Gladys Knight.....I think that's enough for now.

Zeppelin and Sabbath, all day for drums. I got some rare Lemon Drop Drum Session records that I always go to, and this other comp collection called Boston Baked Beans.
