m audio and pro tools ?

hey sup everyone.
i am thinking bout gettin that m audio firwire interface that comes w/ pro tools.
just wondering if anybody has any experience with this at all.
or if there were any better suggestions. i appreciate the input.

I think he means Mbox.....maybe the M threw him off....although, M-Audio was acquired earlier this year by AVID(Digidesign).....dunno...just a thought

Well if your gona get the mbox, ill tell ya to save ya money and get something better out there.

If you wanna use PT and don't have more than 500 to spend then the MBox and a used 001 are your only options (no support for the 001 past version 6.4 which is too bad cuz 6.7 has some nice updates). The monitoring system on the MBox is a lil weird, no midi connection and it's USB, not my first choice for audio.

For the same price there are plenty of firewire, USB and pci options out there that will give you more in/out, midi, etc. but no Pro Tools so.........

yeah i hear ya on that one.
i don't use pro tools right now anyway,
and while i know it is the studio standard
what i use now, acid, sound forge, and ableton live seem to work just fine.
i just don't know of any firewire interfaces that work with those.
