I just sample drums( kicks , snares, ect.) of some jay-z and other hiphop albums, dang my drums sounds better but i feel guilty. I know it was a Kanyeish move but how do you feel about it :?

u need a 'depends' option, cuz it depends, if it sounds cheesey and everyone can tell you jus stole beats from a track that was hot six months ago then heeelllll naaw. but if you can do suttin creative with it and nobody aint gonna guess at first listen i dont see what the problem is....

An Open Snare(kick) = An Open Snare(kick), Period.. just tweak it.. but i neva take a Open Sample that someone Digged up! A Little respect for the Crate Diggers.. and there finds

with sample.. i meant Non-drums..
I often sample drums, but when i hear a nice Kick.. i take it. Usally i use Reason or ASR10 Drumsets and Tweak them EQ's.

What's the point?.......Every record you'll dig will have drums on them, spend a few hours, and learn how to get your own samples sounding good and you will never have to feel guilty again.
Besides, digging and tweaking your samples is half the fun, anybody can bash out a hiphop beat, it's the sounds you choose that define your own style.

word !!!!!!

especially if u tweak them out -

sampling drums off an old primo boom bap record is just like sampling drums offa' skull snaps record

what's the difference except maybe about 20 years - it's like some of you kats are contradicting yourselves .........

The point is....Somebody already spend time diggin' up records to get that drum, and now you're just stealing it.
I know it sounds confusing, but that's just not right to me. I would feel bad myself if i sampled any hiphop song, period.

If it works for you , then fine....

[Sigh...] More old records for us to sample, so i'm not too worried.
I'll trade yall a sampled primo kick for any record that has an afro on it. Hit me up on PM. :D
