Need some advice on a EQ box

What up guys, I needs some advice.... I was thinking of buying an Electrix EQ killer to help me focus on and pull out certian sounds and frequncies when I'm sampling off of records. But now I'm thinking a rack mounted Graphic EQ would prove to be more useful. Does anybody agree or disagree with this? What would be the disadvatages if any to this setup. Does anybody owen an EQ killer, how do you like it? If I were to buy a Graphic EQ what options and brand would I look for (O and I'm not a big fan of Beringer prouducts). My price range is a 100 to $150 dollars.

electrix filterfactory and eq killer are both good products for cheap, there isnt much gear out there like that in the $150 range.

i def cop an parametric eq, you should be able to score a cheap rack off ebay.

My friend just dropped off a stolen Dual 7 Band Equalizer at my house and I want to put it to use but have no idea what I can use it for/hook it up to my setup.

tdot why dont you just experuiment with various cabling and stuff until you get a signal going through it- then you can use its controls to change the sound....

Exactly.

When it comes to isolating frequencies, i use my SP-303. It also has an EQ on it.. it will hit you for about 300 bills. There are a ton of others out there that may cost less, and do more, so don't assume that spending more will get better results. I'd probably buy the filter-queen thing for $150.
