I figured out somethig while i was on the bus on the way home:
I used fruity loops for 5 or 6 years, so I basically know it like the back of my hand (and I still find more stuff to use). Anyway, I just bought an mpc 2000xl, and I am learning how to sequence (my sampling is nearly perfect).
And then it hit me: what better way to learn how to sequence than reconstructing some of my beats from FL? That way, I already know how the beat is gonna sound. I know how I made the beat, and just basically record the samples over again, re-do the drums, and track it out.
I was just wondering if anybody else did this when they moved to their mp from a different production medium. I know I can't be the only one.
