familiarity with music theory is good. dont let it control your life, tho. It helps getting to the next level in music...adding to the sampling and blending capabilities that we already have. I personally dont use it often, its just good to know in the long run.

I've taken some music theory. You can make dope beats with two finger piano and no music theory but it's helpful if you want to start adding some chords.

I wouldn't consider myself a better musician than people with no music theory. I think being able to use your ear is alot more important. You can do that just by listening to a ton of different music.

dont listen to him and dont trust him- perhaps if he backed it up with 'you dont need music theory cos you can make beats without it' we could have all replied 'what if we wanna make music as well as beats' but he didnt- nother example of some noob hijacking a post for no real reason....peeps would read this if into music theory why come to a thread and say dont worry about this...weirdo
