SIMULATE RECORD DRAG?!??!?!?

anyone here know how to simulate a record drag/stop on a wav sound? any program/software that does this? i know i could purchase a cd turntable, but that means i have to burn the sound/song/whatever and then play it on the table and drag/stop it that way...then record it back into something like pro tools. i also know that there are programs out there (final cut or final scratch or sumthin') that allow you to play and scratch wav sounds that are on your computer. but what i wanna know is .....IS THERE ANOTHER WAY? is there any software that allows for this. hope my question is clear. HELP!

Cool Edit Pro (aka Adobe Audition) has an effect under PITCH/STRETCH that is called "turntable losing power". It sounds just like a turntable switched off, and it slowly drags the pitch to a stop. It goes from normal to lower pitch/slower speed all the way out to silence, just like if you switched your turntable off mid-record.

yeah, any wave editor can do this. the preset in AA is cool.

Yeah,AA is hot to def.There's also another program called P.C DJ Red or something like that.And it's like actually having 2 c.d turntables right on your p.c.You just load your wave into A or B table and stretch,scratch,reverse,whatever.

I think it's P.c Dj red.It's like havin two decks and you load the waves right into it.From there you can cue,cut,scratch,stab,reverse,pitch.Almost anything you can think of.I may still have it around here somewhere,if i do hit me up and i'll give it to you since i never use it anymore.

cyrus...you hit it on the nose. i heard that on the game's album. in my opinion...the track is average...it ain't HOT. BUT, i would love to use that technique on a track that i feel is a lot more bangin'!

Traktor DJ Studio allows you to scratch like PCDJ does only much better, but they all suck... However Adobe Audition can do the exact effect you are talking about from the Game track...
