Hip Hop beats?

has anyone ever told you that "you make them hip hop beats"? what does that mean?

people are stupid.

People have biased opinions of certain genres of music. For example........people might say that all punk rockers have mowhawks.......or something stupid like; if you are black, you are automatically good at rapping. etc.

On the hiphop tip...........some people dont respect sampling, and they think that hiphop is a lesser form of music. They automatically assume that because you make hiphop that you sample......and if you sample you steal other peoples melodies etc. Or they think that you only like money, and yelling obscenities. But thats because they dont know anything about it. They dont realize that sampling can be just as difficutl as writing a piece on a piano, or guitar, its just another art form. etc.

If someone makes a gernalization or stupid statement like that, or assume things about something, usually its because they dont know enough about it. So my recomendation is, to be patient, and dont neccesarily take them for an idiot...........but maybe shed some light on things..........if that doesnt work. **** EM! You cant talk a retard out of being a retard! ya know!

cuz I figured since I dont use a lot of keyboard sounds people place what I do into a old school category. I dont use fast hi hats or 808 bass , I guess I dont sound like that pop hop...

the worst is when they say to you..."you trying to sound like that producer..." I HATE DAT SHIIIIIT!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know right!. what also kills me is when other producers give you advice to try to make beats like they do..

But like you said, just educate them on the situation and again like you said, you can't talke a retard outta being a retard. :D

if you want some nice stereotypes to throw at us white guys, just watch the best of eddie murphy or something. that guy sure knows how to disect anyone and make it funnay.
