i read in this site that a lot of you use 16 levels when you program your drums on the mp can someone please explain to me the correct use of 16 levels and drums, do you use velocity or tuning? what is a good way to use it for drums?
thanks

tuning is good for tone scaling...this is the way how i play my melodie..

velocity for drums is good to make it feel alive...i often program right before a snare the same snare but not that loud

no prob dude..the 16 velocity is also good for ghost notes( soft notes like the snare before the snare) it realy can make a track swingin and not that static

I try to reply... but I often get an "invalid session" message, over and over again, so I get frustrated and leave it up to someone else.

.... but in response to your question.....

I usually use 16 levels set to velocity to have more control over the sound (I set velocity to control something like pitch, filter, volume, or the start point of the sample). Its more accurate than just turning off Full Level.

thanks dog,i will mos def. use that how do you set the velocity to contr pitch with the slider?

My NV slider acts up alot.... so I avoid using it. To set velocity to pitch, this is what I do.

Go to Program. Then to Params. Navagate cursor to the Tune: field and press open window. Set a value in the Velo>Pitch: field.
