equipment question

using mpc 1000, and i want to run a turntable, cd player, cassette player, and whatever other audio source for sampling into the mpc, but the key element is i need a mixer w/ phono input, but i don't want a dj mixer, this is just for sampling, i thought of just buying a stereo reciever w/ phono input, and running everything through that, but those are hard to find, and i want to stay under $100, does anyone have a suggestion, i also looked at some behringer eurorack mixers for around 50-60 $, but they only have mic inputs, do mic inputs work for turntables?

Surely you can hook up TT's to the eurorack ?? Not sure but dont they have mic/line + 2 stereo inputs ?? like i say not sure but would have thought you'd be ok. Why dont you want a dj mixer ? seems like the obvious solution. bet in the US you could pick a 3 channel mixer up pretty cheap that will do the job.. Then you got ya TT, Cassette & CD player all hooked up to each channel.

You need either a phono card to boost the turntable signal. Or cop a cheap DJ mixer at GC or sum'n. Phonocards may be out of date as such, but if you have a turntable, a cheap DJ mixer is actually a good investment because it is made to boost a turntable signal properly. Phono outs are their own beast, they don't have the juice of a standard auxillary line.

You can also get a decent, but cheap phono pre-amp (maybe Radio Shack, Rolls/Bellari or on eBay) Connect that to your turntable and the MPC or whatever you're using to get sound to the MPC.

But the main thing is i want to be able to switch quickly from different audio sources without having to switch cables, know what i mean?

Get a three channel dj mixer, if its the 3 different sources ya wanna sample. You wont have to be changing leads as they will all be plugged in back of mixer for each respective channel. YOu then just use whatever channel you want using the volume faders..
Do a bit of research, look on ebay, visit the store.. You'll only get so much info from the boards dood, gotta do ya own footwork sometimes..

I have been, but i can't find exactly what im looking for, thats why i posted, don't trip ill solve the problem, thanks for the suggestions yall

soundcraft make a mixer called the notepad i think. this mixer has turntable inputs. it might be worth a look at.

any studio/live mixer will do. for under $100, you'd probably find a used 6 or 8 channel mixer.
