Im wondering if the ASR 10 or the MPC can do this..

Im in the middle of copping an MG-1 and the thing has no midi at all, it only has the regular stereo outs. So I'm wondering if I would be able to sample from this thing while a sequence is playing....So I could get better timing/feel for my tracks rather than loading individual hits

Oh yah, and if anybody has any MOOG units, let me know some tips and tricks.. :) ?

If you go from the out into the mpc in(or vice versa) or whatever your usin to play back the sequence you should be able to sample fine.

IF you have a 1000 you can sample while the sequence is playing, I think the 4000 can do this too.

Otherwise, just use whichever sampler you are not sequencing from in sample mode (ASR 10) and just play along to the MPC parts, trim and sequence the sample.

Unless the ASR can sample while still playing notes from midi. I don't know that machine too well.

cool...it makes sense since you can sample the main out, it should be able to sample while its playing

I can't wait till I get this thing

Yes sir. That main out does the trick every time. You don't always have to use midi to sync and record.

i won it for a pretty good price too. Some jerk ass was fighting with me for the last 5 minutes and we drove the price up 100 dollars lol.

I wasn't going to let it slip away though, espescially since it's in great condition

Damn, that's not bad at all.I see alot of people bid 4 days before an auction ends but i still don't know why. :? I'm usually that guy that waits for the last 5 minutes. But that wasn't me that time.

That's the smallest of the moogs, but it has a great sound and can do some wild shyt if you mess with it enough. The ringmod is really cool and it even has a simple square wave polyphonic/ organ mode, which goes through the filter and VCA IIRC. I fixed one for a friend years ago.

I know the ASR could, I've used it for five years!:D The best sampler I've ever owned! I'm copping an MPC-60 to go along with it this summer.
