School Is Fun :)

I've been at school for only 2 days so far and I am f'ing loving it. We've only gotten into the basics of digital audio and wave propegation/acousting environments and I've already learned more in those 2 days than I did in my 18 years alive.


It's also made me realize that alot of this information is floating around on the net and can be found through trial and error on your own(or being pa)

anywho, if anyone has the money, or time they can afford to spend on engineering/production school I suggest they take it. It's so inspiring too, I mean i'm surrounded day in and day out by like minded hungry ass people and the teachers go on about how they were recording with so and so last night and how so and so smokes this many blunts and etc...

anywho, this can be the thread on audio engineering schools

man, i wish i had the dough to do it. But yo take advantage, pay attention, and do your thing man.

I'm paying 20,000 for the year.

It's three semesters crammed into 1 year. Text books are only like 300$ as most of this stuff is practical knowledge


20,000 aint that bad considering we're working with our personal g5's in the midi lab and we have 2 ssl consoles at our disposal for the entire year.

damnnn... 20gs... i cant talk tho my college is around that much money... have fun tho and definitlely take advantage of it..i think that is the problem with most kids that go to those schools.. they just use it as a alternative to academic college and then give up when its done... i think if you show them you are 100% motivated and into it they will help you out in the long run...

i'm from T-0 myself so it's nice to hear from a cat who's having fun with his music in what i consider to a dope, DOPE city...

thats funny because i was considering taking that exact same sports management course when i was in highschool.

hey tdot if you did a little more research on schools you couldve saved about 10gs. R.A.C. is just around 10gs or so. im going there starting september. and if you knew about R.A.C. why did you choose metalworks?

Hell yeah, i feel the same about my school. im about to graduate from Full Sail in florida @ the end of the summer and ever since i got here i have never regreted it although it hurt my pockets like hell.

sh!t man i wanna go to recording skool sooooooo bad. once shit start going right wit this music thats one thing i wanna invest in. knowledge iz the key.

for one the ssl's. none of the major studio's in toronto, or North america for that matter are going to trust you around a neve/ssl/icon rig if you're knowledge goes as far as a mackie board.

2, the name. Metal Works is a world class recording studio. They've got multiplatinum artists coming in out of the building everyday. when i graduate I hope to continue the tradition of excellence
