im looking to start sampling and i have a 1k... I dont have any way to chop the samples or anything like that. i really dont know too much about it.

I plan on using a computer (PC) and im most likely getting a turntable tomorrow.

Whats a good computer program to use?

Could yall school me on what i need to know to sample

sound forge is a great program. really basic but it does the job

i use it for chopping samples

If you on a budget just DL Audicity. It's free and works good, I use it.

U can chop in the 1k. No timestretch but u can 16 level it but u will change the pitch. No zone but u can copy the sample a few time and shop each. I do that, maybe time consumin but it gives u the concept and makes u appreciate the features may come later on in the OS 1k update. If u can, don't rely on the computer unless u really really have to!

The reason why a lot of people don't know that you can extract samples on the 1K, is because no one reads the manual. The first thing I do when I buy a piece of eqipment I am not familiar with at all, I read the manual.
