Filtering out drums

Is there any tips or tricks to try and eliminate the drums from a track or at least quiet them down a bit so you can add your own flavour of beats on top? Any particular frequency to filter out?

Sometimes, if you sample in STEREO, you can select what channel you want to edit...

(i.e. the left channel = sax, keyboard & the right channel = drums, guitar)

You could select the left channel and try to filter out the drums as much as possible. Other than that, there is no way to filter out drums. That's why you have to find solo instrumentation on a record...
