double the tempo to get more ppq??(meaning that if you have a tempo at 100, change it to 200, your 1/8 time sig now becomes 1/16) If so, do you like the way it sounds and does it sound different to you?

I do this all the time. I don't know if it sounds better, but I change it to keep the feel of the beat I am playing when sequenced.
