Tracking Problems

I posted this in the Newbie forum but after 24 hrs with no response I feel I should post it in another forum and see if I can get somewhere. I have the MPC 1000 and I've read plenty of posts on tracking to Cubase, most of which have helped me tremendously but I still got some problems. I have everything synched properly and can sometimes even get something to record (Although I never see a wave form just a solid line) in Cubase only and the sound is VERY low. I can barely hear anything. I try to track out two tracks at a time but only get one sound which like I said is very low. I've raised the volume on everything in cubase but I still dont hear much. I have to my knowledge done everything required, set the busses up (4 mono inputs) with my soundcard (M14), synched everything in the VST connections tab, etc. Any suggestions?

you need preamps

can you get anything to record at the proper volume in cubase or just your mpc? Tell me exactly how you have it set up. You shouldn't need a preamp to record your mpc.

Yea, I do vocals and stuff in Cubase...Everything is synched properly, when I hit play in Cubase my MPC plays...I can barely hear what I recorded from my MPC though. It's connected with MIDI (MIDI out from M14 to MPC MIDI in, MIDI out from MPC to M14 MIDI in, the 1/4" cable from out of MPC to in on M14)

Do you have a Mixer?

Somewhere you are loosing signal strength...

can u give us your specific connections, or is this it ... but the way whats the exact name of that M14 sound card

I have a mixer but I use the 1/4" wires that normally hook up y monitors to the mixer to use for the outputs and inputs. The M14 is the soundcard that comes with that Cubase package called System 4...I've read up in that manual and have done everything it says to do.

Ok...I am able to get the sound louder only now it is too loud and getting distorted. Also it only records one sound at a time when I have it set up to track out two at a time.
