Volume in Cubase

I'm still learning some of the basics in Cubase, and haven't figured out how to make volume and other levels change throughout tracks. It was real easy in Acid 4.0. So I also wondered if anyone knows if they're similar?

From memory, there are little R (Read) and W (Write) icons in the mixer for each track. With W enabled, any automation you perform will be recorded (not sure if you have to be recording or if automation is recorded even when playing). However, for the automation to be applied during playback you must have the R (Read) button enabled.

Once you have done this you can examine the automation by clicking on the little + expand option for each track. This then shows you a tracks automation represented with lines to show the values.

Why did you stop using Acid? After 20 years of Steinberg sequencer use I am now 'downsizing' to Ableton Live. Massively more productive and way more fun.. Wish I had dont this some years back.. Live makes Cubase look as musical as a brick..

Yo I got a similar problem mang...not as specific as the volume thing...but I love using Acid as a sequencer with my MPC....its easy to timestrech, chop, pitch add fx...and everything for audio...

Its just I find Acid is just proppa kak when it comes to MIDI syncing....so I am trying to go back to using Cubase....but I just miss all the things that I loved about ACID...

Cubase is fockin wooden as a muhufocka and seems a little outdated compaired to what computers can do nowadays....

I think I need to find sum new shlt to use with my MP coz am fed up right now mang,
