I have a mo phatt and a protues 2000, so I know I'm not stupid, but on my mpc when I select mo phatt, and record something in midi channel 1, then on the mpc go to next track channel 2, and then on mo phatt change the channel and sound of midi channel 2, channel 1 plays on what ever sound I just brought up on channel 2. I hope you guys understand, but it's **** up and I cant do nothing with the mo phatt with it doing this please help.

well if you have it set up right, the proteus should be on the midi A side and mo phatt on the midi B side...then you gotta change to the right midi channel on the mpc....im guessing you have a mpc2000/xl. if not then im not too sure what the problem might be

I don't know if you already did this but check it out: Push the Master button, the red light should be on. Then turn the wheel to your right until you see MIDI MODE. Use the arrows until you have poly or omni underlined, turn the wheel until it says MULTI. You should be straight after that. If not, make sure all your midi connections are correct.
