got me an s950!!!

well almost- saw it in my local pawn shop for 6 payments at just over £100....works out well cos all the one son ebay have had huge postage- anyhoo havent got it yet but am obviously excited...

just thought i'd share...im off to scour the archives for 950 gumpf....

...yar i missed a pyament at the pron store so didnt get the s950-= but found me a s900 for v cheap and got that instead, 12-bit warmth for me!!

Hi Greg. Sorry to hear you missed your s950. I presume you mean the total cost is £100 and not 6x100? There is one on SOS at the moment for £150 (London) btw..

hehe yar- its was cash convertors surprisingly- £120, 6 payments of £20 or so, but i completely forgot about it and missed the payments...

i found the s900 for about £40- so even better!! but i wanted the 950 for the harddrive etc, as the 900 only has very short sampling times- cheers for the ad anyways...

im off to find out how to sample effectively with it, should arrive at the weekend...

i personally cant wait- ive done some searching and found lots of stuff to go through- too much in fact but its all good,

with such short sampling time im thinking of sampling whole finished beats as im in a dilemma of how to now handle my drums....

either sample the whole finished beat and trigger that (means i have to resample every time i change anything)
or load all drum sounds into the 900 and trigger via midi (means ill loose the mpc internal tightness)

im gonna try both, i may have been wrongly convinced about the tightness, in that i may find my beats sound fine triggered via midi- dunno, will have fun playing with it though

i couldn't bring myself to part with the s950 when i decided to sell most of my gear off, it a nice and solid piece.

40 for a 900 thats a pretty good deal man.

cos midi is serial and the mpc internal sequencer isn't; by triggering hits from midi three drums that fall on top of each other will actually play after each other very quickly- not sure ill notice the difference...just thought i'd raise it in case anybody had
