i'm planning to record all the separate tracks from my MPC into my computer for some final editing. i was considering buying a copy of cakewalk home studio XL...but i was thinking, i can get cool edit pro for free....can cool edit pro do everything home studio xl can do? what are the pros/cons of each software?

i'm not doing anything that serious..i'm really just looking for a simple piece of software that will still do alot for me..i'm already a little familiar with the basic functions of cool edit tho. i looked at other software, like reason, logic, and pro tools and stuff and those have alot of unnecessary stuff for me. can someone help me out?

thanks!

Dont know to much about cooledit, but I use home studio xl. Its a great program for a fair price, it has just about all the editing options I need but could use a little tweaking but I guess that goes with any program you inside and out. But hey if you can get cool dit for free than what the hell do it if all you want to do is record a few tracks, edit, and add a lil bit of effects.
