I am looking for a sampler that can read wav's off a zip disk. I got a mpc1000, proteus 2000, and Emu Esi-2000. I want something that I can just get a scsi zip drive for, and get a usb zip disk and put the samples onto a zip disk on the computer then switch it to sampler and get working. I got all these multisamples i got want to use, and i'm going to make some more. I think it would replace my ESI. Any suggestions?

The 1K reads WAV files. If you want to put WAV files from your PC to your MPC, use the USB data cable that came with your 1K.

Hope I answered your question.

Some of the MPCs will do these things, but they can't do true multi-sampling, so I guess you're more in the market for a rack sampler.

I know the Akai S5000 and S6000 use .wav's. And they both have scsi and zip capability......and they will read PC formatted disks.
Sounds like what you're looking for.
