Layer Breakdown

I have the MPC 1000, and could somebody PLEASE breakdown layering 4 me??!!! I don't get how to do this shit. I got sampled drums that are sometimes too low and not punchy enuff. Please help a brother out. I got some hot muzik on the backburner and i refuse to do them until i get this layering shit down.

How to technically layer samples as in have one pad trigger multiple samples is described in the manual.

How to use this creatively and make it sound good is a more complicated issue. Basically you have to pitch/trim/filter your sounds to make them fit well together, but there is so much more to it than that.

I guess this e-book might have some useful tips...

take a low freq drum that has alot of decay on it, and put a nice punchy drum on top of it. use the freq and filter functions ... the manual
