MPC1000 and Powerbook users??//

How do you connect your mpc to your mac? and what can u do wit it?

dont dare ask how i may have a serious bout of sarcasm lined up!

Via USB, I keep a copy of the manual on my cf card and then read it on my pb before I ask stupid questions.

I have a G4 Powerbook and an MPC1000.

You can connect them via USB but....

a)you need to have ProTools closed or it causes problems.. and

b) for some reason the compact flash card plays up a little... you can add and delete files but the MAC/MPC doesn't recognise the fact that a change has been made. For example, you can delete all the files from your CF card (VIA usb) but the MAC/MPC still thinks it's full.. or being used.

The only way around this I have found is to copy all your files to desktop, disconnect the MPC and use it's PURGE function, then copy files from desktop back to MPC....

I have seen a post about this somewhere but haven't been able to locate it (little help???). I have purchased a USB CF reader, but this doesn't seem to help.

You have to empty the trash after you delete stuff off the card, if you just trash it the samples will sit in a trash folder on the card and still take up room.
