The sweet mix of vinyl and synth...

Damn, how it evades me. I'm either making heat with strickly vinyl or making heat with just synths. Where do the two fall together perfectly? Is it a Kanye West joint (I hope not)? Is it There's Been A Murder on Vol. 3? Is it computer synths or ASR 10's or is it live instruments?

I got to ask these questions because without being able to add more of my own creative influence on my beats then how am I ever supposted to make my dough? If I keep sampling everything won't I be loosing money and giving it to someone else if my track hits the radios?

What's the solution here?

Just Blaze is AMAZING in this area! About timbaland. I read his recent technique has been sampling a song playing instruments around it then taking out the sample.

Thats what I hear too....You never see samples in the booklets under Timbaland produced tracks!!!!
