Asr-10 Chopping w/out using memory

I have a Asr 10 with the expanded memory, but still it only displays 67.14 seconds of sample time (mono). So I thought that maybe it wasn't seeing the upgraded memory because the jumper wasnt moved, so I opened it up but the jumper is moved over. Then I took a look at the sample rate thinking that it was to high (taken up more memory). But its at 29. I'm not sure what to do. I've looked in the manual but that is really not helping me out. Any thoughts on this?

Next question is how do I chop and assign one wave sample to a group of keys without using extra memory (than what its already using for the original sample)? Do I use layers or copy the wave to another instrument?

Any info will be appreciated. Thanks

If you on have 29 seconds you don't have expanded memory. You need 72 pin simms. Easy to find on ebay.

At full memory ( no samples loaded up) it shows 67 sec at 29 sampling rate.

Copy the sample and spread it across the keys using lo-hi key in INST mode. Can't remember what page it's on though, I don't have the book with me right now. You can also make another copy and put in layers on that same instrument. So you'll have the sample all over your ie. track 1 and layers of track 1 and you can logically edit them anyway you want. If you physically cut the sample though it will cut the copies also. So just stick to editing parameters and envelopes with the copies.
