i just got cakewalk homestudio xl...i understand this thing records and can create complete compositions, etc. but does it have the ability to EDIT WAVS too? like deleting certain sections of a sound, or chopping them up, etc.?? cuz im trying to do really basic shit like that and i cant figure out how. the manual doesnt give any hint...i think its all just like a loop based kinda program. is CUBASE like this too?

basically..a program like COOLEDIT is what im looking for, able to record shit, multitrack, etc. while at the same time having the ability to EDIT sound. are there any other programs out there besides cooledit that will allow me to do this?

forget cakewalk. you are better off buying a hardisk recorder like yamaha aw4416 OR using sound forge.
