Schillinger method? Any info on this?

I was reading in the newest tape op about some engineer and he said that this one arranger and pianist, eddie smith studied "Schillinger", then in quotes it said "A theoretical system for music composition, very popular among jazz musicains." any info on this or a place to find info on it?
