i use the mpc mostly when i record--but every once in a while i will use
the drums from the mpc and sounds from my roland phanton x8 or the triton. is there anyway u can track the sounds out of the keyboards in protools with out having to play the song nine or ten times. thanks

You number of outputs on your keyboards verses the number of tracks you have recorded in a song on that same keyboard directly affect your tracking to protools.

ie, my triton extreme has 4 indiv out and 2 stereo out. that's 6.
I have a digi001 (8ins to pc) and I use vegas multitrack software.

I can record 6 tracks in 1 recording session str8 into vegas.
If my song has all 16 tracks recorded I'm just going to have to live with that and have more recording sessions until I record all the tracks of my song right?

I'll have to record the song 3 times and then once more for the remaining tracks, right? There's no way around that one.

Especially if your keyboard only has a stereo out, you will just need to keep on doing what you are doing until you finish tracking it out on protools.
