Where To Get Guitar Sounds

Where does everyone get good guitar sounds to throw on their beats? I've heard a few tracks posted recently with some nice guitar chords on some hip hop beats, and I hear it a lot on a lot of Rocafella beats, Jay-Z, Young Gunz, Memphis Bleek. Anyone know where everyone is getting these sounds? Keyboards? Rackmounts? Which ones have the best sounds to use? Or are people tweaking these and creating the sounds themselves using synths and all that ish?

Industry dudes use real guitarists IE. Kayewest. Most underground cats use modules and keyboards. Tru diggers sample from different records and chop the sounds accordingly saving as a new guitar program on thier mpc. I just go on google and type guitar sounds than save to windows media player, than I burn a cd and sample into my mpc. Or I just hook my fantom up via usb and drop the files right into my keyboard. I place the sounds into the appropriate folder on the fantom and edit them with effects and layer with other guitar presets on my fantom, than I run midi into my mpc and use. Just a couple tips for u to try

So you do both, sampling actual guitar riffs from rock songs and using keyboard/rack guitar sounds depending on the track? I'm probably leaning more towards the keyboard side of things because the songs I was thinking were Oh Baby by Memphis Bleek, Look In Your Eyes or Never Take Me Alive by Young Gunz, or Back 2 The Way It Was by Xzibit. They are all pretty basic chords I think, but I like how all those tracks came out, real simple, and they don't sound like sample guitar riffs.

I'm also looking into buying a keyboard and I'm torn between the Korg Triton LE or the Fantom. I want to be able to tweak and redesign the existing sounds on there, and also expand the sounds on there, but also have some nice preset piano sounds, and nice guitar sounds too.

I usually sample my own guitar samples...but I also play guitar. Otherwise, I go diggin if I'm looking for a certain amp sound I can't reproduce.

THat never take me alive beat was a sample off a record son. Any way if u lookin into a keyboard get the fantom u can do mad stuff. You edit the presets to the point where they are unrecognisable. Yo shoot me 100 dollars and Ill up load All my sounds and email them to you

You can try faking a guitar sound......use a clavinet patch or something on a keyboard, and run it through a distortion pedal (plus maybe a little delay.)

Then play chords of consisting of just root & 5th (power chords)......you can get it to create the vibe of rock guitar.

I use my guitar to get good guitar sounds.... never found a synth that had any nice ones....

Look Man if you got propeller heads "recycle" and chop up the samples found in Acid's Spanish Guitar sample cd's, you will have some of the PHATEST licks / Chops / and elements for years to come. My clients are always amazed that I always have some thing new due to this.

Gutiar is one of the few instraments that cant be emulated realisticlly with synths.. You can either sample or....

Use a real gutiar .....

Ive been playing guitar for about 4 months
But ive been play piano for 11 years and sax for 10 years
So ive picked up guitar pretty quickly casue of my background..

Its a fun instrament, i use it in alot of my beats now , its another creative avenue

but as with anything it takes work espically if you dont have any experince with live instramentation... It aint gonn happen overnight...

reason will work decently for some background, low volume guitar simulation. you just got to tweak and tweak and tweak. but it needs to be LOW VOLUME and it can't take the forefront of your mix otherwise you and your listener will be distracted by the fact that it's not real.

sample and chop chop chop to rethread a new melody, that always works for me. i have recycle and access to hundreds of old flamenco records. ie, i live in heaven.[/quote]
