i thought this was impossible......until i seen this machine in this catalog that does it.........i dont knoe the name but it does exist.........................also i hear there was a way to do it in pt7

There are few plug ins that can isolate vocals and do some kind of stereo center cancellations but I doubt if they really do their job well. I have only read about these.

i tried that plugin, its only a decent filter, doesnt extract anything

you dont need a total clean extraction, you need to extract the vocals so that the backgrounds sounds can be masked in the mix

I know a few djs who had vocals extracted in protools a few years ago. He had this almost clean acapella of Michael Jackson, you heard some gates working together with the eq, you need very complex dynamics to extract vocals, it cant be done by just equalising the hell of it.

If You Can Try To Use A similar instrument as the most dominant original Instrument in Your mixed Version because prolly there will still be some of it left over and Ur instrument line will cause it to be harder for listiners to notice...........
