i have a mpc 2000xl with a lacie cd drive for loading samples from cd now i think i have SCSI-2 HD50 to SCSI-1 Centronics cable now do i need a SCSI 1 Terminator and if i do what does a scsi terminator do
also i have lacie a zip drive with cable

The terminator is a switch on all scsi devices...scsi devices are linked in a chain...for the chain to work..each end of the chain must be terminated..I think? Mpc;s scsi numbers are set to 6 so you set your external device to any other number

Yeah, you are right. The chain MUST be terminated, so hence you can have all the devices, but there must be a terminating device at the end of a SCSI Chain.

Now, remember some devices are AUTO-TERMINATING.
If they don't detect another SCSI device dasiy chained to it
then it will auto terminate. Check the specs on your device and
see if it states that it's auto-terminating or not.
