What kind of track recorder yall got I need a new one.

Whats up guys I just bought a boss BR-1200 and Im going nuts trying to figure this thing out. Well I came to the conclusion that Im gonna Sell it cause its way to difficult to sync up for some reason. Bassically I need a machine that I can track out mix down and store around 300 hours of music on. I want to be able to go to the studio with only that and track my beat from the recorder to protools. It also must have a cd drive so I can back up the files. Any suggestions? What kind of track recorders yall rockin?

For a cheap option, try the ADAT HD24...while it doesn't have a disk drive, it has a pair of hot swapable hard disks, ethernet and lightpipe out on 24 tracks. You can use any size hard disk and they are cheap these days. Get an ADAT interface for your PC or simply a network card and you can also dump data to your PC and burn disks. All audio is in .WAV format so it's compatible with Pro tools, Sound Forge etc...most studios have the ADAT format available for clients as well so usually all you need to do is bring in the unit, sync it up and press "play"...oh yeah, it syncs to ADAT sync or MTC as well as word clock...

I just copped this Beast!!!!
Its so much easier to navigate, I was rockin in 5 minutes. It took my like 30 seconds to sync up.

i recorded my album on that thing.............worked good for me

Hey jackpot how much did you cop that for? I was looking at one new at gc and the salesman told me i could cop that for around $600.00 new

I copped mines for like $800. Its hot cause I used to neva mix till the studio. All the beats I posted were unmixed

i wish i knew how to use one of those, how do they work? can someone explain what the purpose is, i know its probably the same thing as multitracking on software right? but more hands on? or is it that at all??

I use it because Im always back and forth to the studio dumping beats for artists. In the past since I use a lot of Midi devices I would have to bring all that stuff with me to dump tracks. Now All I do is track out my beats onto that recorder and I do a basic mix on that. Than I put it in my backpack and take with me to the studio. I then dump from the recorder to protools for the finishing touches on the mix. You can also do vocals on their. and its a good way to back up all your beats. I love that thing. BTW they come with 40Gig harddrives which are expandable. You can save ALL your work in their as well as in the mpc.

oh yeah u can burn cds to and u can load waves from cd's and u can sync it to the computer for mixing
