What up guys? I usually don't ask many questions because you guys give great tips and I've learned a lot just from reading the forums. My question is how do I record my effects that I use on the MPC into Protools? I usually just sequence on the MPC and then dump everything into protools and add my effects and mix.

on the mpc, whatever track/pad you have your effects on will be tracked out when you track your beats into PT.

That didn't work for me the other day. I used some reverb on a clap and when I tracked it out by soloing each track into PT it came out as just a regular clap. Am I tracking wrong? Been using Midi Beat Clock.

I think the effects will only route to the main outs, so unless you're recording them it wont go into PT

Thanks. That explains it. You would think they would route to the 4 outs and not just the stereo out.

the rickety bandwagon rattles past young chase, a weathered dusty hand reaches out to him, and a gravelly voice mutters: "Leap on, lil buddy!"

I never use the digital outs.

i suggest reevaluating this decision, best sound from the mpc can be got from the spdifs in my opinion

I haven't been usin the spdif outs either goin into PT, is there the difference suttle or do you find a huge difference? I find midi been given good results

I think so. They're just a duplicate of the main outs i think?

i dont know. Seems to me i always kinda thought it was better to apply the effects after its tracked out...............I guess depending on what it is.

But that way you can go back, if for whatever reason you decided to not use that effect.
