MPC-60 AND ROLAND XP 60....HELP!!!!

I know this has been posted in the past, but the question keeps popping up. I'm trying to record more than one "patch" or "synth sound" on my mpc-60 from my Roland xp-60. Roland doesn't have a forum like this so you guys are the last stop before I go bonkers. I understand about creating the drums on the "16 drums" channel, and recording the "synth" on midi channels 1A,1B, etc; but whenever I lay the beat down with one "synth sound" or "patch" and scroll to add synth to the following track and midi channel I lose the previous patch. The user manual for the Roland isn't very helpful, so I'm hoping that one of you guys has both an mpc and roland xp-60 and can tell me exactly what settings to keep on both machines. I'm a drowning man....somebody throw me a lifeline!!!thanx!!!!!

look for multi or performance or multitibral mode on the xp, it will take you to a section where you can select multiple patches dependant on the midi channel, then do like you've done with the mpc sequencer.

I will tell you how to get different sound out that XP, I had the same prob.

on the XP make sure your in Performance mode. on the screen on the XP, push the "part" button. (you will see at the top of the screen the different mode you use, such as User, and all the banks) Curser down to the sounds and pick one. Make sure on the XP that it's set on track 1, that's just above the actually playing keys.

Now the mpc. Changs the track to midi 1A and record that sound. For the next track, change the MPC to 2A and so on and so on.

And with every new track, go to the XP and also change that track and sound.

don't forget to change it from drum to midi
