If you read the manual you would see that the MPC1K can be sync with any program using Midi Clock.
Best way to go is slave your MPC to Protools in case of reason the only way to make that work is make Reason slave to the MPC
For hearing the audio you gotta plug the output off the MPC either the Digital or analoge audio in to your soundcard and in to the your MAC.

I've been playing with the MPC and midi syn for a while and got it right setup now. So if you got any question just hit me :P

Well what you need to do is connect the digital output from the MPC1K to the digital INPUT of the MBOX.

When recording you need to select the digital Input to record from in ProTools. I gotta tel ya this is proberly not the best way to do becaus you will be bouncing everthing to the the digital out since that is is the MAIN OUT.

what I would advice you is to connect an ANALOGE OUT port to ANALOGE in in the MBOX so you could bounce 1 track sepeartly to Protools. This is done by selecting the corresponding OUT in the MIXER page. (For that look up in the manual)

This is kinde the basic Idea on how to do it.

If you got the Mbox u gonna need a midi man cause there are is midi port on the mbox. if memory serve me correctly after you get the midiman set the midi on your 1k and ptle should master it then get you 1/4 to 1/4 cables and there should be no problems
