Ok....I want to know is it possible to create the following:
Take the song "Its Yours" by T. La-Rock. If you are familiar with that track it was produced with a Roland 808 if I'm not mistaken. The High Hats are in stereo for few beats then Alternate on every other beat from left channel to Right channel within certain BARS....Is this possible to do on the XL? Or do you think this was done during the MIXDOWN through a mixer?

You can just assign the high hat on 3 pads. Pan one hard left, one hard right and the other in the middle. Then you can play them alternately to your liking

yeah, you can do it in step edit. I never tried panning in Step mode though

put it on the three pads and do it in realtime if you like.
don't all have to be on the same seq.
make three copies of the mains seq and then do different
pads on each and then chain together in whatever order you want in
song mode. Use your imagination. :D

or, you could record your high hats, while on the mixer screen, and pan them while your playing and recording them, and the mpc will remember the mixer changes.
