Greetings MPC gang. Anybody out there dabble with, or get paid for, or anywhere inbetween, mixing their tracks to 5.1? And what are you're thoughts on the marketablility of mixing like this, when everybody's buyin MP3's? Like I know that lots of bands are producing DVD's (usually live) and they put the crowd noises in the surrounds, but I mean actually writing tunes or an album in 5.1? Anybody doing this and if so what were you're results like? Do you bounce the stems to DTS or AC-3? Do you think you could ever make a video?
My understanding is that Zepplin mixed one of their albums to ProLogic, 4 speakers. The tech at the A/V company that I work at told me during a Canuck game that it's sounded f***in cool when he hooked up his stereo and tried it out years ago. Right on.
