Kids,

when I go to load some drum breaks from my mac onto a pc formatted zip, everything seems ok.

Take the same disk and inseert it into my zip on my mpc2k and when I come to load the drum booty the MPC says " wrong file pcm . wav" or something similar.

I dont know why this error happened - anyone got any ideas? I changed the file name to shortened abbreviations but, alas. Nuffin :(

m*

Check to see if the wav is 44.1 khz 16bit.. 8.3 naming convention example.... 12345678.123 filename.. That is the wav/snd files that MPC live on.

ah.... i've run into that problem... and knew exactly what it was...l.
.
.
everyone knows the standard uncompressed file format iis .wav
.....but if you want to get more specific the standard is Microsoft PCM .wav format.... and this is the only sound format the mpc reads... other than its own .snd format....
.
.
.meaning... the error that your receiveing is most likely stating that those sounds your trying to load are not in PCM .WAV FORMAT... this happened to me... the when i viewed the properties of the sound file... it was really in ADPCM .WAV format.... as far as what the difference is... i have no clue... cuz they sound exactly the same.... so i suggest that you convert all your adpcm or whatever it really is to the standard pcm .wav format........

if you have a bunch of files to convert.... then cop something like awave studio 8.0.... otherwise... you can convert one file at a time in in a program like cooledit....

peace.......
