I have recently noticed that when slaving the mpc2kxl to DP via an USB-MIDI interface, that there is no delay in song mode but the first few samples are missed in seq mode....

anyone else notice this????

hit play in DP.....mpc plays back immediately in song mode

same thing in seq mode causes a delay b4 the beat plays

Try to add a few empty bars at the start of the seq.

Peace.

considering most in here own a mpc and a daw the fact that no one else chimed in saying..."yeah that happens to me or no i never had that happen"
lends me to thinking either

a)most of you dont own the gear you say you do
or
b)you dont use the gear you own (and taking pics of your "studio" and posting them at the forum does not qualify as using the gear you own)

this is a very sad state of affairs

now back to the regularly scheduled program

not really, Jaem.

1) I record to tape or directly to CD burner, so I dont have this issue.

2) when I DID multitrack to a DAW (using CoolEdit), I never used Sequence mode on the MP, I used Song Mode exclusively---since I didnt bother to use the DAW until the beat was completely finished and ready to record anyway. And even then, I used MTC/SMPTE, and never Midi Clock.

Sorry, I havent noticed what you're talking about.

^^^^^

not really directed at you 2, as both of yall are usually very helpful but considering the amount of users here..........I find it especially odd

makes me think most here are full of $hit......

no surprise

I'm just curious if its a DP issue or a mpc issue

I would assume the lag is due limited functionality of the mp when in song mode vs full functionality of mp in seq mode

doesnt matter either way really cause I only track with midi clock and mpc in song mode.....

I was just curious

Which USB-MIDI interface are you using cause I just recommended an m-audio to one of my friends with a laptop, he may or may not have problems like that if it IS a usb to midi interface thing and MAYBE the same one, don't know yet though, he hasn't gotten back to me.

I understand completely.

there is a midi out on my 828, but i use the m-audio uno.

I dont think thats the source of the delay though bcuz there is no delay in song mode....although i may be wrong

as far as the thread cats always up in here on some "i can't figure out this.....help me" I was hoping to nail down some causes of midi latency (ie seq mode in the mpc) and have a discussion outside of some ol' GIMME HELP type $hit but cats seem to be too simple so fuk it.........

E. a lot of us don't own a 2kxl.
