basically how DO you make a sample at a certain tempo FIT your drums at a specific tempo..

basically i want to do my drums at the most basic...
kicks on the 1,3, 5
snares on the 2, 4

kick kick snare kick snare, kick kick snare kick snare feel me?

now lets say my sample is at a tempo of 120BPM and its 2 bars, if on the mpc 1k i add my drums they gon come put to fast cuz its gon be at 120bmp and it won't sound hip hop? so how yall do that? i mean i'm guessin you gon say slow down the temp.. but then it won't sound right? the sample would sound slow.. ?

2. what is a measure? i'm on the deep sounds page wit the calculators tryin to get info on bpm and beat measures..

3. is time compress the same thing as time stretch? whats the difference between change tempo on audacity?

4. on the mpc i read the manual bout tap tempo. all it says is you can tap it out.. can somebody clear this up? i mean when do you tap it? i can't figure that one out..

aight yall i'm typin this up at the public library being as i ain't got no computer, but i'm go over to the homie house he stilll runnin win 95 on his ibm aptiva wit his busted a$$ 28/.8 modem..

hopefully yall can give me some input and pointers on this..

many questions, ill help with the ones regarding 'measure' concept::

a 'measure' is the same as a 'bar'.. is equal to '4 beats' as long as you are in 4/4 time signature.

So in the most basic drum pattern, 1 measure goes like::
kick snare kick snare
1 2 3 4....

the next kick after that would be on '5' which is the beginning of the next measure.

And for tap tempo. similarly, just tap once on each beat,,, ie 4 times per measure.

ie in the example above just do:
tap tap tap tap.
1 2 3 4
