I was talking to someone about some music sh... and we had a discussion on programming drums on the MP, and he spoke on the fact that he prefer's programming his synths sounds. Like anybody that makes beats you have people that sample heavy, there keyboard heavy within making their joints, or you have people that do both but sways more to doing one of the two I just mentioned. He's say's he edit's and program's his sounds into his beats thru MPC 2000. Does anyone know exactly what he's talking about and doing? I sample heavy and take drums and sounds from vinyl and cd's and utilize some synths sound for bass or just some extra shit to put over the beat, but this dude uses the keyboard alot and he says he programs the synths sounds. How do you Program synths sounds on a MPC?

I just got an MPC-1000 and I immediately started programming synth and synth basses on my MPC.

I do it the same way you might use a normal synth. I have an autoload that loads up a bunch of waveforms that I sampled - sawtooth, sine, rectangle, square waves, and a bunch of weird ones too.

From there, I start layering and detuning the samples within a program. I also mess with the filters quite a bit.

the mpc1000 has more filter options tho. it's real hard on a 2000, not really a synth with a what Attack and release envelope?:o
