Do you think a laptop can hold its own these days. I have a music xpc, but I have no room and was thinking of getting a laptop to save space/ have a portable studio. Would the laptop be slow and bug out a lot? Am I spoiled with my nice computer and have grown too used to having a computer that doesnt screw up all the time? What do yall think?
But, I wouldnt use a Laptop for mixing...only for produciton.
Because most mixing setupds like Pro Tools HD utilize PCI cards that arent compatible with Laptops...and also, you need an additional HD...one for programs, and one for audio files...they say having 2 Internal HDs is better and faster than an internal and external USB/Firewire...And you know of course you can only have one internal hard ddrivei n a laptop.
But for Production, Laptops are AWESOME
Portable...can take it anywhere (like an MPC)... No noisy fans like a bulky desktop...
